Energy days in the frame of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) take place across all of Europe.
Activities in Polotsk were held in the frame of PubLiCity project, as a result of which city will receive modern and energy-efficient street lighting. The project is being implemented by Polack District Executive Committee and Interakcia Foundation with the financial support of the European Union.

Took part in city "Energy Quest"
Urban orienteering involved challenges on the topic of energy efficiency. Teams solved puzzles and tried to find secret codes.

Participated in summer school "Transformator"
Ecological lamps, interior staff and graffiti from moss were made by the participants of workshops. During the workshops eco-friendly pavilion for the city was constructed by architecture students and members of Urban and design center.

Completed the tasks of Online Energy Efficiency Marathon
Participants followed suggested advises how to save energy at home. Useful life hacks were placed in VKontakte page Energy Polotsk, and the winners got their prizes.

Were active in sports and intellectual tournament "To energy efficiency - together!"
Teams from the school camps of Polotsk competed in two parts of the activities - intellectual quiz and football game.

During city "Energy Quest" 7 teams from Polotsk competed while solving the puzzles on energy efficient topic.
On June, 10 participants tried to find secret codes and even collected waste paper.

"It was fun during Energy Quest. We collected passports and documents for waste paper, run, walked, took pictures of strangers, explored the city and wrote a poem. Now we know, where the banya №2 is situated, where to find 40 guard caps and where there is the most tasty milk cocktail in Polotsk. Thank you to the organizers!"

Eco-friendly pavilion was constructed for the city by students of Polotsk State University and members of Urban and Design Center during summer architecture school "Transformator". It started on June 18.
Near the pavillion, worshops on vertical landscaping, creating ecologial lamps and interior staff were hold.

What a warm atmosphere was during pavilion opening on June, 24! The pavilion was decorated with handmade lamps. Short movies on ecological topic were shown. And even the bad weather didn`t spoil the mood!
Sports and intellectual tournament "To energy efficiency - together!" was great!
The tournament was organised for teams from the school camps of Polotsk. The winner (school №16) showed the best results in both parts of the activities - intellectual quiz and football game.
Last year, PubLiCity project had gender audit, and the recommendations were applied in the tournament. There were 27 girls among members of the football teams!

During Online Energy Efficiency Marathon participants learnt useful life hacks.
During the online contest participants revised their flats and followed suggested advises how to save energy at home.
The most energy efficient participant and two the most creative authors of the reports won energy efficient prizes. They made up alternative ways to save energy i.e. gave up using microwave, went to the picnic and cooked on fire, rode bikes instead of watching TV.

"As it happens, we can save energy without putting yourself to trouble. It`s worth to turn off the light when you leave a room and turn off the devices you don`t use to. It`s easy and makes you more attentive!

Why Polotsk hold Energy days?
As the first Belarusian signatory of the Covenant of Mayors from 2011, Polotsk is aimed to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% until 2020. Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy is a global initiative that unites local, regional and national authorities in pursuit to reduce CO2 emissions and adapt to the impacts of climate change. At the moment there are 28 signatories of the Covenant of Mayors in Belarus.
